Indonesian Oud, prized for its fragrance, originates from the heartwood of Aquilaria trees, primarily found in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia. Specifically, regions like Sumatra and Kalimantan are known for producing high-quality oud. The oud is formed when the tree is infected by a type of mold, causing it to produce a resinous, aromatic heartwood. This resinous wood is then harvested and processed to create oud oil or incense.
